Heavy Flood/ Water Damage

Tremendous downpours have inundated parts of Louisiana over the last few days, resulting in disastrous flooding and forcing thousands of people from their homes. A combination of tropical moisture and low pressure fueled the immense rainfall in Louisiana

In one flood-ravaged subdivision in Denham Srings LA, a lifetime of possessions is piled outside each brick house. Many people with damage from the flooding didn't have flood insurance. In many instances, residents say such coverage wasn't required because they didn't live in a designated flood zone.

Gerard Landry, mayor of the town of Denham Springs, believes about 2,900 homes had at least 18 inches of water inside.
